Your Marriage License
If you live in Georgia
If you live in the state of Georgia you may both go to any county court house - usually the Probate Court and obtain your license. You may have your ceremony in any county in the state of Georgia. If you live in Georgia and wish to be married in another state you must go to that state and abide by their laws to obtain your license. It is often different in each state. Dr Mike is licensed to conduct weddings in most of the United States.
If One of you live outside the state of Georgia
If one or both of you live outside the state of Georgia you must both come to Georgia and to the county you wish to be married in to obtain your license. You must then have your ceremony in that county for the license to be valid.
Discount for Premarital Counseling
Premarital counseling will often answer questions and deal with concerns you both may have. If you desire to go through counseling and complete it your officiant or counselor may issue you a notarized document that will allow a $40 discount on your license within the state of Georgia. You must present this form signed by your officiant or counselor at the time you obtain your license.
